CANNOCK, U.K. - Marylandian -- Geekstorians has been nominated for Best History Podcast in the 30th Annual Webby Awards.
Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, The Webby Awards are widely regarded as one of the Internet's top honours. Nominees are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a judging panel of more than 3,000 industry experts, with only five nominees chosen in each category.
Geekstorians is a documentary-style podcast from Geektown, created and hosted by Dave Elliott, exploring the strange, funny, chaotic, and often overlooked stories that shaped geek culture. Blending history, storytelling, and pop culture insight, the show dives into the origins of fandom, comics, gaming, television, and the unexpected moments that changed them forever.
"Geekstorians is still a relatively new podcast, and it's a fully independent show that I create and produce myself from Staffordshire, England, so to see it nominated for a Webby is honestly amazing," said Dave Elliott, creator and host of Geekstorians. "It's up against some big names and much bigger followings, which makes this even more surreal. I started the show because I wanted to tell the strange, funny, chaotic stories behind geek culture in a way that felt smart, entertaining and accessible, and it means a huge amount to see it recognised like this."

As a nominee, Geekstorians is also eligible to win a Webby People's Voice Award, which is voted for online by the public. Voting is open now and runs until Thursday, 16th April.
