One of the key objectives of this MOU is to recognize and promote sustainable agriculture practices that benefit the environment. The Chesapeake Bay Program Agricultural Advisory Committee will continue to receive support from both agencies in achieving this goal.

EPA Regional Administrator Amy Van Blarcom-Lackey emphasized the importance of standing with Maryland's farmers in their efforts towards a healthy bottom line and healthy farms. She stated that this agreement will provide access to tools and support that build soil health, boost efficiency, safeguard streams and the Chesapeake Bay, and strengthen urban and rural communities.

This MOU will remain in effect until 2031. Both agencies are committed to working together towards achieving their shared goals of supporting farmers while protecting the environment.
