Metastatic breast cancer is a terminal disease that has no cure. There are treatments, but the average life expectancy remains only about 36 months. Research for metastatic breast cancer is extremely underfunded. In this time of pandemic, many organizations have decided to cancel their research cycles for 2020. Metavivor has committed to its research program for 2020. "We just cannot put research on hold. We have come too far to put potential life extending treatments on pause because of the pandemic." said Fairchild.
