ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 30, 2025) ~ Annapolis, MD - The winners of the 2025 Ice Cream Trailblazer Champion and the Ice Cream Trail State Park Pass have been announced by the Maryland Department of Agriculture in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. After careful consideration, Brian Benesch and his family have been selected as the 2025 Maryland's Best Ice Cream Trail Blazer Champion. As part of their prize, they will receive a $50 gift card to their chosen creamery, Keyes Creamery, as well as a children's book titled "Tales of the Dairy Godmother," a limited edition trophy, and most importantly, bragging rights.
In addition to the Ice Cream Trailblazer Champion, Maggie Woodward has been chosen as the State Park Pass Winner by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. She will receive a Maryland Park Service State Park Pass which grants her unlimited day-use entry to all state parks for a year.
Rocky Point Creamery and Patuxent River Trail have also been recognized for having the most check-ins on the Let's Rallie app at their location. The Benesch family and Maggie utilized this app to check into each stop on the Ice Cream trail as well as the paired State Trail near each on-farm creamery.

More than 4,000 consumers interacted with the app and 26 people completed the entire trail which spans from Kent County to Washington County. Of those 26 participants, 15 also completed all of the associated State Park trails. Originally created to encourage consumers to visit on-farm dairies and support local farmers, this addition of hiking trails allows participants to discover nearby state parks that are perfect for hiking and biking.
Although the official 2025 Ice Cream Trail season has come to an end, there are still plenty of opportunities for ice cream lovers to indulge in their favorite treat. The Let's Rallie app features 14 locations where consumers can enjoy delicious ice cream, including Prigel Family Creamery in Baltimore County, Deliteful Dairy in Washington County, and South Mountain Creamery in Frederick County. It is important to check the hours of operation before visiting, although most locations are now open year-round.
The Ice Cream Trail has been a huge success in promoting local farms and providing a fun and tasty experience for consumers. The Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources are proud to have partnered together to make this event possible. As the 2025 season comes to a close, they look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.
