KOMO/Seattle Wins RTDNA National Edward R. Murrow Award

BALTIMORE ~ Sinclair Broadcast Group, a subsidiary of Sinclair, Inc., is proud to announce that KOMO in Seattle, WA has been honored with a National Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). The award recognizes outstanding achievements in broadcast and digital journalism.

KOMO News Anchor Eric Johnson and the Eric's Heroes team were awarded in the Sports Reporting/Large Market Television category for Birth of a Boom, a story about a Bainbridge Island family that invented the now ubiquitous sport of pickleball 58 years ago. Johnson's Birth of a Boom earned him his third consecutive National Murrow Award win and is the only National Murrow Award winner in the Seattle market this year.

Earlier this year, 14 of Sinclair's owned and/or operated content centers across the country were honored with Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Outstanding Journalism. In total, Sinclair brought home 23 awards, demonstrating their commitment to providing quality local journalism.
