ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 1, 2023) ~ This October, Maryland Governor Wes Moore has declared it Maryland Apple Month. The Maryland Department of Agriculture's marketing division, Maryland's Best, has partnered with the Maryland Apple Promotion Board to encourage residents to purchase locally grown apples from orchards, farm stands, and stores.
To celebrate the month, Maryland's Best is offering a unique opportunity for all ages to take part in the "Take a Bite of Maryland" campaign. Participants are encouraged to take a bite of a Maryland apple and submit a photo of it online via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Local Frederick artist Goodloe Byron will then turn the "bite" into a work of art.
