ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 16, 2024) ~ Annapolis, MD - Maryland Public Television's original series, Maryland Farm & Harvest, is back for its 12th season and will be featuring farms and locations in four different counties in its upcoming episode. The episode is set to premiere on Tuesday, December 17 and a preview can be found on the series' webpage at mpt.org/farm.
The popular weekly series takes viewers on a journey across the state of Maryland, showcasing the farms, people, and technology that are essential to sustain and grow agriculture in the state. With introductions filmed at Sharps at Waterford Farm in Brookeville, this episode will feature stories from Howard County's Chamelin Family Farm, Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties' Agriculture Queens of Maryland, and Caroline County's Bethesda Methodist Peach Festival.
The first story follows the Chamelin family from Carroll County who have a deep connection to 4-H. Parents Sam and Jennie Chamelin first met through the program and now their three children are actively involved as well. Viewers will get a glimpse into their farm life in Westminster as they follow 16-year-old son Caleb competing in the Carroll County 4-H & FFA Fair's Swine Showmanship competition.

Next up are two of Maryland's newest agricultural ambassadors - Karli Abbott, the 2024 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen from Trappe (Talbot County), and Lindsey Jacobs, the 2024 Ms. Agvocate USA from Church View Farm in Millersville. Both women share their experiences of achieving their titles and what it takes to represent the agriculture industry.
The final story takes viewers to Caroline County for the Bethesda Methodist Peach Festival where hundreds of people gather every year to enjoy handcrafted goods and local treats. Host Al Spoler visits nearby Heritage Orchard to pick fresh peaches before heading to the festival where he gets a taste of their famous peach cobbler made with locally sourced ingredients.
After the December 17 episode, Maryland Farm & Harvest will air encore presentations of holiday specials from previous seasons on December 24 and 31. The first five episodes of the 12th season will re-air on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. from January 7 to February 4, 2025, with the sixth episode premiering on February 11 and weekly episodes following until the season finale on April 1.

Since its debut in 2013, Maryland Farm & Harvest has attracted over 16 million viewers on the statewide public TV network. The series has visited nearly 500 farms, fisheries, and other agriculture-related locations in all Maryland counties, as well as Baltimore City and Washington D.C.
Audiences can also catch encore broadcasts of Maryland Farm & Harvest on MPT-HD on Thursdays at 11 p.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m., as well as on MPT2/Create® on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Past episodes can be viewed on the free PBS app and MPT's online video player, while segments from each episode are available on the series' YouTube channel.
