First up is R F Warner Sons Grain Mill in Lineboro (Carroll County). This family-owned mill has been operating for over 90 years and is currently run by third-generation owners Allen and Kate Warner. Through conversations with the couple and their customers, viewers will learn about their commitment to quality and service that has sustained the local mill for nearly a century. As they approach retirement age, Allen and Kate hope to see the mill continue with or without them at the helm.
Next up is Knightongale Farm in Harwood (Anne Arundel County), where owner Joel Greenwell Sr. has been hosting an annual Farm Festival for the past 20 years. What started as a small side hustle has now become a big business that not only supports the 90-acre working farm but also contributes to local community initiatives. Joel's experience is a prime example of the growing trend in farming and agrotourism.
The episode will also feature Chef Shalia Coburn, owner of Chef B Meals, who takes viewers on a journey from farm to skillet. She sources her ingredients from Zekiah Farms in Waldorf (Charles County) and Miller Farms in Clinton (Prince George's County) before preparing a delicious hanger steak dish with fresh seasonal produce. Viewers can even download the recipe from mpt.org/farm.
