An individual may use ProEssentialsJS for personal projects, study, hobbies or research, with no revenue test. Accredited schools, colleges and universities, together with their students and faculty, may use it free for coursework and academic research regardless of the institution's size. Anyone may build and sell a course, tutorial or book about it.

Underneath the JavaScript API is a desktop engine.
