BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- The Fashion Umbrella Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization focusing on the well-being of youth and supporting members of the arts community.
When the pandemic hit the Foundation, it created a platform to generate reoccurring revenue to provide a financial cushion for programs of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation, Inc.
The Fashion Umbrella Foundation, Inc. realized that fashion would be a great way to raise money to support its programs and clothe individuals while uplifting self-esteem. The Carter Kennedy Showroom (CK Showroom) is an online art showroom representing the fashion and arts community.
"During the pandemic, sadness erupted as my board members and I were constantly in think mode to find a way to keep the organization and our programs alive. Being a part of the fashion and arts community, creating an online showroom (boutique) was the best option," stated Sharan Nixon, Founder and Chief Volunteer of the Fashion Umbrella Foundation, Inc.

The Foundation birthed the Carter Kennedy Showroom for ease and convenience. The showroom is located online, eliminating the costs associated with a brick-and-mortar type platform.
Orders placed through the Carter Kennedy Showroom website create proceeds that assist in funding the Fashion Umbrella Foundation, Inc.'s programs (https://www.fashionumbrella.org) like the Back-to-School: REFRESH (February); Educational Honors (December); Scholarship Award (November); Youth Open Mic (quarterly), and the Fashion Umbrella University (ongoing). Purchases on the Carter Kennedy Showroom are tax-deductible.
