LANHAM, Md. - Marylandian -- Hook & Reel Debuts DC's First Jerk Seafood Boil During Father's Day Weekend Launch Celebration

Caribbean-inspired seafood boil experience arrives as Hook & Reel approaches 10 years serving Prince George's County

LANHAM, MD - This Father's Day weekend, Hook & Reel is turning up the heat with the launch of what it is calling DC's First Jerk Seafood Boil, a bold new seafood experience that brings together Caribbean-inspired jerk flavor and the rich, buttery comfort of a classic seafood boil.

Launching at Hook & Reel's Woodmore/Lanham-area location in Prince George's County, the new Jerk Boil features a handcrafted 10-spice house blend, Hook & Reel's signature flavor profile, and layered Caribbean heat to create a seafood experience that DMV native Daniel Foster, Operations Manager, believes the region has never tasted before.

As Hook & Reel approaches its 10-year anniversary in the DMV this summer, the restaurant saw the launch as the perfect moment to introduce something bold, original, and inspired by the diverse flavors and cultures that make the region unique.

"After serving the DMV for nearly 10 years, we wanted to create something worthy of the milestone," said Foster. "The question we kept asking ourselves was simple: if this flavor combination is this good, why hasn't anyone done it before?"

The Jerk Boil is built from a handcrafted seasoning blend featuring paprika, chili powder, garlic, coriander, peppers, Caribbean-inspired spices, jerk paste, and Hook & Reel's signature house flavor. The result is a custom-built seafood boil layered with spice, smokiness, savory richness, and heat.

Unlike traditional off-the-shelf sauces, the Jerk Boil was designed as a full flavor experience from the ground up. Guests can customize their boil with three heat levels: Mild, Spicy, and Fire.

The launch also reflects Hook & Reel's continued commitment to menu innovation while celebrating the Caribbean influence found throughout the DMV.

Early reactions from local personalities and preview tastings have already sparked excitement.

"DC's First Jerk Boil will be HUGE!" said international radio personality Shack NdPack, @shackndpack.

"This is a solid option! The public will want to try this!" said Angie Ange, nationally syndicated radio host and Director of Content at WHUT-PBS, @goangie.

The Jerk Boil officially launches Father's Day weekend, Friday, June 19, 2026, and will be available for a limited time.
