ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 2, 2023) ~ The Maryland Department of Agriculture has announced that registration is now open for the 2023 Maryland Farmers Market Conference. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 15th, the annual event will bring together local markets and farmers to share topics that will promote the success of farmers markets across the state.
The conference will include sessions on marketing tips for farmers markets, food safety and more. Additionally, participants can sign up to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The University of Maryland Extension will present on "Farm Stress" and "Food Safety" while Horizon Farm Credit will discuss "Agriculture in an Inflation-increasing world." Maryland Department of Agriculture Acting Secretary Kevin Atticks will also be present for a meet and greet with participants.
