GREENBELT, Md. - Marylandian -- Following yesterday's exploration of cosmic origins, part two of "The Big Bang Blunder Series" dives into one of modern physics' greatest mysteries: the invisible components holding the universe together. Based on the theological writings of LaShawn Washington, this release highlights an incredible parallel between cutting-edge astrophysics and ancient Hebrew texts.

In 1927, astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered that faraway galaxies were rapidly flying away from Earth, proving that the universe is actively expanding. Today, astrophysicists and cosmologists have confirmed that this expansion, along with the gravitational binding of galaxies, is driven by a powerful force known as dark energy and dark matter. Together, these mysterious elements comprise a staggering 96% of our universe. Despite their massive presence, science admits they remain completely invisible and largely misunderstood.

Ancient scripture, however, provided a conceptual framework for this invisible matrix thousands of years ago. Genesis 1:1-2 states that in the beginning, "darkness was upon the face of the deep". In ancient Talmudic literature, Hebrew scholars and rabbis described this specific darkness using the word choshekh, defining it not as a mere absence of light, but as an invisible, highly potent "black energy" or "black fire".

This description perfectly mirrors the invisible, powerful dark matter that modern science credits with keeping the universe from imploding or collapsing inward. From a scriptural standpoint, this resonant, stabilizing force is nothing less than the active Word of God. As Colossians 1:17 declares, "He is before all things, and by him all things consist"—a Greek term meaning to stand or hold together. Furthermore, scripture notes that God makes "darkness his hiding place," suggesting this cosmic veil protects mortal humanity from the blinding intensity of His direct glory.

The series will conclude tomorrow by examining scientific models on how the cosmos will end, comparing them directly to biblical prophecy.
