Who's Most at Risk? Key Findings on U.S. Construction Fatalities
CHICAGO - Marylandian -- A comprehensive new report from The Kryder Law Group, LLC Accident & Injury Lawyers, analyzing U.S. construction fatalities from 2014–2023 has revealed critical insights into workplace safety and the demographics of construction-related deaths. With 10,345 fatalities recorded during this time, the findings underscore the urgent need for stronger measures to protect workers and address inequities affecting certain groups.
The report highlights several key trends, including which demographic groups face the greatest risks on construction sites. Preliminary findings reveal troubling disparities, such as disproportionate death rates among Latinx and middle-aged workers.
"The numbers are sobering," said Andrew Kryder, Esq., Founding Partner of The Kryder Law Group, LLC. "Behind every statistic is a worker whose life was cut short and a family who has had to endure an unimaginable loss. This report is a stark reminder that more must be done to ensure every construction worker goes home safe at the end of the day."
