Celebrating Local Chefs on Wheels throughout the state of Maryland, and raising money for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland.
BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- Maryland Food Truck Week, presented by the Maryland Mobile Food Vending Association, is a ten-day long promotion of the local food truck industry. It gives visitors and residents a chance to dive into the unique culmination of culinary delights throughout Maryland. From international fare to classic American cuisine, Maryland is home to many great food trucks and well renowned chefs. Discover incredible cuisine at some of the best food trucks in the Country during Maryland Food Truck Week from October 18 to 27, 2019.
This season again, Maryland Food Truck Week benefits Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. "Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland and Maryland Food Truck Week is the perfect partnership of meals and wheels," said Stephanie Archer-Smith, Executive Director, Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Inc. She added, "Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland brings nutritious food, and the pleasure of the social interaction that surrounds food, to people where they are. Nicole Youse, President of the Maryland Mobile Food Vending Association (MD MFVA) declared: "Food Truck Week is important to the MD MFVA, and vital to the food truck industry in Maryland because it promotes small businesses and their owners that consistently showcase a level of culinary expertise on wheels that Maryland's citizens gravitate towards on a daily basis. The MD MFVA is here solely to support food truck owners in these missions, and we love that Food Truck Week is our way to showcase what food trucks do each day to everyone across the state!"
Maryland Food Truck Week will kick off with a free food truck rally at South Point in Port Covington on October 18 from 5 pm to 9 pm, featuring food trucks, beverages and DJ music right on the waterfront. The event is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, October 19 from 12 pm to 5 pm ten food trucks will be invading the little town of Aberdeen for Food Trucks in the Park, an official Maryland Food Truck Week event, with local craft vendors, live music and family activities.
