ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 17, 2024) ~ Annapolis, MD - The Maryland Department of Agriculture has announced a new addition to their Weights and Measures program in response to the increasing use of electric vehicles in the state. Starting January 1, 2025, the program will begin registering service agencies and technicians involved in the installation, repair, and calibration of electrical vehicle fueling equipment.
As electric vehicles become more popular in Maryland, the Department of Agriculture has recognized the need for proper regulation and oversight of their fueling equipment. This falls under the department's Weights and Measures Program, which is responsible for ensuring accuracy in measuring devices such as gas pumps and scales.
