KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 23, 2025 ~ HCI Energy, LLC, a leading provider of resilient hybrid energy systems, has recently announced the launch of their latest product, the Power Cabinet. This compact and intelligent power platform has been specifically designed to meet the increasing demand for flexible and scalable power solutions for critical communications infrastructure.

The Power Cabinet is the newest addition to HCI Energy's product line and offers a mid-priced solution for organizations that require their Zero-glitch Power Module (ZPM) technology in a turnkey enclosure. This new product caters to customers who do not need a full-scale Hybrid Power Shelter but still want access to HCI Energy's advanced technology.

According to Joe Kessinger, CEO of HCI Energy, "The Power Cabinet is all about accessibility. Our ZPM technology has already proven itself as a highly sought-after standalone solution and integrated into our Hybrid Power Shelter. However, not every site is suitable for these options. By introducing our technology in a new form factor, we are providing more organizations with the opportunity to strengthen their networks, reduce downtime, and gain true power intelligence."

The development of the Power Cabinet was driven by feedback from public safety agencies, tower infrastructure companies, broadband providers, and mobile network operators. It brings HCI Energy's field-proven power management technology to a wider range of deployment scenarios – from retrofitting legacy sites to supporting greenfield builds with reliable backup or prime power.

Ernie Miller, owner and operator of Midwest Mobile Radio and an HCI Energy customer, attests to the value of the company's ZPM technology. He says, "At Midwest Mobile Radio, we manage dozens of public safety sites that require rock-solid solutions. When our customer's UPS-backed sites failed, I turned to HCI Energy's Zero-glitch Power Module. With its integrated batteries and remote monitoring capabilities, it stands out from any other option."

Miller continues by saying that since deploying the ZPM technology at their sites, they no longer worry about downtime during power outages. He adds, "The installation process was quick, and now I can check the system's status remotely at any time. For me, there's no comparison – this is the solution I trust for public safety infrastructure."

The Power Cabinet combines essential infrastructure into a compact and rugged enclosure that includes the ZPM, which manages and optimizes power sources and outputs. Its battery-first architecture ensures zero downtime, and it also comes with integrated Lithium-ion batteries for added reliability. The system offers operational visibility, on-site data collection, remote VPN accessibility, and automated reporting.

Additionally, the Power Cabinet features an equipment rack that can accommodate customer equipment or additional batteries and built-in climate control. With the ZPM orchestrating all power activity, this product goes beyond providing backup power – it acts as a resilient and responsive energy hub designed to maximize uptime and extend asset life.

The Power Cabinet has already generated significant interest before its official launch, particularly among tower companies and public safety network operators who require a reliable and intelligent power solution without the footprint of a full shelter or hut. By enabling battery-first operation and simplifying power integration, this system helps operators reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and fuel consumption.

Kessinger emphasizes the importance of reliable communication during power outages by saying, "Whether it's P25, 5G or broadband, communications cannot go dark when the power does. HCI Energy's Power Cabinet ensures that they won't."

The smart Power Cabinet is now available for order from HCI Energy. Those interested can get an in-person demo at APCO 2025 (July 28-29) in Baltimore at booth #2559. For those unable to attend the event, they can contact HCI Energy to schedule a meeting for a closer look at this innovative product.
