ANNAPOLIS, MD (April 11, 2025) ~ Annapolis, MD - As the 150th Preakness Stakes approaches, the Maryland Department of Agriculture's Maryland Horse Industry Board is inviting Marylanders to join in on the celebration. The Preakness Stakes is one of the most prestigious horse racing events in the world and this year's festivities will be filled with CHAMPIONS, CHARM, and CHEERS!
In honor of this milestone event, the Maryland Horse Farm Tour will take place on Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 11 AM to 3 PM. This exclusive event is part of the Preakness Festival and aims to showcase Maryland's rich equestrian heritage while also promoting tourism in the state.
Guests will have the unique opportunity to visit picturesque horse farms where they can witness mares and foals roaming freely. They may even have a chance to meet a future Preakness champion in the making! This self-guided tour is free and open to the public but registration is required to visit the farms.

The Digital Program for this event can be found online and includes a list of participating farm locations as well as local agri-businesses that visitors can explore during their trip. The program is designed to enhance guests' experience and provide them with a behind-the-scenes look at breeding and training some of racing's finest competitors.
The Maryland Horse Breeders Association, Maryland Racing Commission, Maryland Million Ltd, The Maryland Department of Labor, Maryland Department of Agriculture, and Maryland Horse Industry Board have all come together to present this event. It is a great opportunity for people to immerse themselves in Maryland's equestrian tradition.
