BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- Career Communications Group (CCG) — producer of the Women of Color in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Conference, an annual event hosted by CCG's Women of Color magazine — has announced that the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award winner is Terry Barclay, President, and CEO of Inforum. This award is given in recognition of major milestones in the struggle to demonstrate the results of opening up access for women and minorities in the technology enterprise.
As president and CEO of Inforum, Barclay presides over the only organization in Michigan that combines strategic connections, proven professional development programs, a respected forum for new ideas, and original research to accelerate careers for women and boost talent initiatives.
Since joining Inforum in 2001, Barclay has grown the organization tenfold. She has launched industry-specific leadership, economic development, and research initiatives that have played a role in Michigan's economic resurgence. Inforum's research-based leadership development programs have been used by Michigan's Fortune 500 companies to accelerate the careers of women leaders.

In 2011, Barclay spearheaded efforts for Inforum's inGAGE™ initiative to position Michigan as the hub for women-led ventures. inGAGE supports new and emerging entrepreneurs to scale businesses and raise capital. Inforum also offers inSTEM, an initiative aimed at closing the gender gap by engaging women working in STEM fields in local STEM programs.
Prior to Inforum, Barclay was the founder and president of Operation ABLE of Michigan; served as senior vice president and chief external affairs officer for Hospice of Michigan and was vice president of university relations for Oakland University.
Barclay serves on the boards of Rebel Nell L3C, The Nature Conservancy-Michigan, Cranbrook Institute of Science and the Diversity Committee of the Detroit Institute of Arts. She is a frequent speaker and the co-editor of a book, The Road to the Top is not on the Map, scheduled for publication in September. She was recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as one of Michigan's 100 Most Influential Women and "40 Under 40" leading executives. In 2018, she was inducted into the Michigan Businesswomen Hall of Fame. She is also an angel investor in tech start-ups. Barclay holds a Master's degree from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from the College of Wooster.
