FREDERICK, Md. - Marylandian -- PearlFection Dentistry is proud to announce that Dr. Sanaz Vahid has joined the practice as a full-time Periodontist. Dr. Vahid is a highly trained, board-certified Periodontist and Implant Dentistry Specialist with a passion for patient care and oral health that is reflected in her breadth of experience.

A second-generation dentist and native of the DC area, Dr. Vahid brings a wealth of expertise in implant surgery, bone and gum grafting, all-on four implants, and sinus lifts, as well as gum disease treatment, crown lengthening, and other traditional periodontal procedures. As one of the few select dentists in the greater Frederick Maryland area trained in IV sedation, Dr. Vahid will leverage the newly opened Maryland Sedation Dentistry and Surgical Center adjacent to PearlFection Dentistry to treat patients requiring general anesthesia or IV sedation in the fully equipped Category 1 certified facility.

Dr. Vahid earned her DDS from the University of Maryland in 2014, then continued her education at the University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine, obtaining a certification in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), then completing a three-year residency in Periodontics and Implant Surgery. Advanced education and training have qualified Dr. Vahid to perform challenging lip repositioning surgery, buccal fat pad removal, and esthetic and therapeutic Botox and dimpleplasty procedures in addition to her comprehensive periodontic treatment experience.

Dr. Vahid maintains professional affiliations and memberships with the American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Association, American Board of Periodontology, DC Dental Society, Maimonides Dental Society, and Alpha Omega Dental Society. She is also the Founder and President of Women of the World of Dentistry, an organization that educates and empowers every woman in the field of dentistry from the assistant to the dentist. Over the course of her career, Dr. Vahid has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning a broad range of important medical and dental topics.

The addition Dr. Vahid aligns with the PearlFection dedication to comprehensive dental care with all dentistry under one roof. Dr Vahid  will make use of the most advanced facilities, equipment, and tools available for gum surgery and implantology, including the state-of-the-art surgical center fully equipped for general anesthesia, IV Sedation and nitrous oxide sedation dentistry, and a fulltime anesthesiologist on staff.

Outside of the office, Dr. Vahid is an avid soul cycle girl and fashionista. She also enjoys spending time with loved ones and traveling. As a lifetime resident of the DC area, she is honored and proud to use her impressive skill set for the benefit of the community she has always called home.

As a Periodontist, Dr. Vahid specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of inflammatory diseases that affect the gums and other tooth-supporting tissues. Periodontists treat cases ranging from mild gingivitis to severe gum infections and other conditions requiring aggressive periodontal therapy or surgical intervention, including the placement of dental implants.
