~ The Steele family has been crowned the 2023 Ice Cream Champion Trailblazers after completing the Maryland Ice Cream Trail. The family, consisting of Melissa Steele and her sister, along with their children, ate their way through nine on-farm ice creameries and submitted photos of their adventure to Maryland's Best for consideration.
As a reward for their efforts, the Steeles will receive a $50 gift certificate to the creamery of their choice, a copy of the children's book "Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck's Ice Cream Wish", a 2023 Maryland's Best Ice Cream Champion Trailblazer plaque and golden ice cream scooper, and ultimate bragging rights.

Keyes Creamery was next with its wooden ice cream sundae picture stand that they loved. Prigel Family Creamery had very good ice cream as well as yummy food and fun events like a Sunset Cow Picnic. South Mountain Ice Cream Shop in downtown Frederick had yummy ice cream and a wonderful downtown area to explore. Deliteful Dairy had soft serve ice cream with beautiful scenery on the farm and an outdoor seating area to enjoy it. Woodbourne Creamery at Rockhill Orchard had good ice cream and a nice little playground for the kids to enjoy. Misty Meadow Farm Creamery had great ice cream with animals, pedal tractors, playgrounds, and mazes for kids to explore. Rocky Point Creamery had great ice cream, a fun combine tractor playground, and a sunflower field. Chesapeake Bay Farms had yummy ice cream and a cute baby cow next to their outside sitting area.
