Law Firm Gives Additional Financial Support to Hourly Employees and Creates a $50,000 Medical Expense Fund
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Marylandian -- The recent closures of non-essential businesses is creating financial hardship for many Americans. Many businesses have been forced to put things on hold; but law firms remain open under the current government mandate. The management at one personal injury law firm, Sweet James, LLP, has taken unprecedented steps to help ensure their employees can weather this temporary situation. They are offering all hourly employees a $600 check and creating a $50,000 fund to help with any COVID-19 related co-pays and out of pocket medical expenses for all of their employees.
Steve Mehr, Managing Partner for the firm, says, "Many of our employees come from dual income households, and while our employees continue to work, we are aware that their partners may not be working; and that loss of income can be devastating. Though it appears that financial relief will be supplied by the government, that may take weeks. We wanted to offer something to our employees that will help their families stock-up on groceries and other necessities today."
