ANNAPOLIS, MD (November 6, 2025) ~ Maryland Public Television's popular original series, Maryland Farm & Harvest, is back for its 13th season with a new episode premiering on Tuesday, November 11. The show takes viewers on a journey across the state, showcasing the farms, people, and technology that make up Maryland's number one commercial industry.
The first episode of the season features stories from farm locations in Carroll, Harford, and Kent counties as well as Baltimore City. The preview of the new season is available on MPT's YouTube channel.
Host Joanne Clendening kicks off the episode at Star Bright Farm in White Hall (Baltimore County) before heading to Dell Brothers Inc., a fifth-generation family-run grain and livestock farm in Westminster (Carroll County). There, she meets with Greg Dell who is taking tissue samples of young corn crops to assess their nutrient makeup. She then visits the livestock barn where Doug Dell is working with Dr. Cindy Scheckels of Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic to breed coveted Wagyu cattle – a breed typically found only in Japan – right here in Maryland. Doug explains how he began raising Wagyu cattle and how he is expanding his herd through IVF and natural breeding.

Next up is St. Brigid's Farm in Kennedyville (Kent County), named after the Irish patroness saint of cattle and dairy farmers. Co-owners Judy Gifford and Dr. Robert C. Fry use a free-flow robotic milking system to automate their dairy operations, increasing efficiency and cow comfort on their 62-acre permanent pasture.
The episode also features a segment on Flower Mart in Baltimore City and Harford County. Host Al Spoler attends this annual event that celebrates all things floral with live music, children's activities, and a vibrant marketplace filled with vendors like Jones Family Farm. Al joins co-owner Reese Jones at his Edgewood greenhouse before exploring the bustling market where he discovers artisans who preserve flowers in glass orbs and create stained-glass-like windowpanes from dried blooms.
Maryland Farm & Harvest has been a hit with viewers since its debut in 2013, with over 19 million viewers tuning in to watch the show. The series has visited over 500 farms, fisheries, and other agriculture-related locations in all of Maryland's counties, as well as Baltimore City and Washington D.C.
