Laugh Out Loud with Seinfeld Writer Pat Hazell & The Wonder Bread Years at New Spire Arts

Trending...
FREDERICK, Md. - Marylandian -- Pat Hazell, one of the original writers for NBC's Seinfeld and a veteran of The Tonight Show, brings his critically acclaimed one-man show The Wonder Bread Years to New Spire Arts for two performances—Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 PM. In addition, aspiring writers and comedians can take part in a Comedy Writing Workshop led by Hazell on Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 PM at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre.

Tickets are $35 for the show and $20 for the workshop and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street. Discounts are available for students, military, and seniors.

A fresh and funny salute to Americana, The Wonder Bread Years is a fast-paced, hilarious production that gracefully walks the line between stand-up and theater. A comic bullseye for Baby Boomers, the show mines the familiar rites of passage from childhood—sitting at the kids' table, riding in the way back of the Country Squire Wagon—with heartfelt hilarity. Jerry Seinfeld calls it "milk-snorting funny," and the Los Angeles Times raves it's "pure unpasteurized nostalgia." The show, which aired on PBS, has been hailed as "a grand salute to the baby-boomer generation."
