ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Marylandian -- In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Roots: The Saga of an American Family by Alex Haley, the Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival proudly presents the 'Rooted Reception' Fundraiser — An immersive cultural experience blending heritage, style and purpose.
Taking place on Wednesday | April 29, 2026, at The N Room @ Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium located at 550 Taylor Ave | Annapolis, MD, this elevated evening invites guests to celebrate a Black Noir Affair — A reimagined fusion of 1970's soul, storytelling and modern Black excellence.
An Evening Rooted in Culture & Legacy
The Rooted Reception is more than an event — It's a celebration to preserve African American history while raising funds for the FREE annual Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival, a cultural tradition that honors the legacy of Kunta Kinte and the resilience of African ancestry in its 36th year.
The Rooted Reception experience will include:
