TOKYO - Marylandian -- The Mt. Fuji Mishima Tokyu Hotel will open in June 2020, at the south exit of Mishima Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen - Hikari and Kodama lines. About 45 minutes south of Tokyo and just less than 2 hours north of Kyoto, it's an easy stop between these two other bucket list destinations in Japan.
The hotel offers a great location, just off the Shinkansen at Mishima Station with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji simply 20 minutes by car from Mishima Skywalk - the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan, allowing 360 panoramic views of Mt. Fuji. It is also a central location for access to the Izu Peninsula and Hakone. Its special offerings include a wide variety of leisure activities, such as: cycling, mountain climbing, rappelling, canyoning, paragliding, golf, hot spring bathing facilities, and more. Tour/experience details and pricing can be found by searching on the exploreshizuoka.com website.
The 200-room property includes five types of guest rooms: double, twin, deluxe twin, family, and suite, with room sizes ranging from 20㎡ up to 64㎡. The sophisticated interior is designed by Shimizu Corporation (https://www.shimz.co.jp/en/topics/construction/item02/) with motifs of spring water, lava and stone particular to the area.
