After Nearly Two Decades of Addiction, Homelessness, and Survival, Faith-Based Social Impact Leader Alvin Bowman Steps Into His Purpose with His Most Personal Work Yet
COLUMBIA, Md. - Marylandian -- On August 17, 2026, faith-based social impact leader Alvin "Testimony" Bowman releases Sticky Notes, his debut album and the culmination of a journey that has taken him from the depths of crack addiction, homelessness, and survival to a life fully surrendered to purpose, faith, and service. The release follows the success of his Juneteenth single "You Lift Me Up" featuring Dice Raw and The Choir Boyz, which introduced Testimony's story to audiences across the country and set the stage for this moment.
Since the single's release, Testimony has been making his mark on media with appearances on The Breakdown with Brittany Noble on the Black Star Network, The Marissa Mitchell Show on Fox 5 DC, Good Day Baltimore on FOX45 Baltimore, and an appearance speaking at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Lacrosse Camp at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania. Each appearance has given audiences a closer look at a story that defies every expectation. A Division I lacrosse athlete who earned a scholarship to Drexel University and was later inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame, Bowman appeared destined for a life defined by achievement. What followed was over a decade of crack addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and a gunshot wound to the head in Baltimore in February of 2009. On December 10, 2014, he found lasting sobriety through faith, community, and an unwillingness to let his story end there. Today, he is over a decade clean, a top-performing sales professional, a masters lacrosse competitor with the Rusty Cannons, and a husband and father.

Through MindzEye Inc., his Baltimore-based faith-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Bowman is turning his lived experience into a platform for redemption, accountability, and community restoration. The organization serves youth, young adults, athletes, individuals in recovery, returning citizens, and families through motivational speaking, mentorship, expressive arts, and faith-centered programs. In a meaningful alignment of mission and timing, August 17 is National Nonprofit Day, making the album release date a natural extension of everything MindzEye represents. For those who purchase Sticky Notes directly through Testimony's Bandcamp, 100% of the proceeds go directly to MindzEye Inc. so the foundation can continue doing the work it was built to do. Learn more at www.mindzeye.org. For partnership or booking inquiries, contact Deanna Spence, Director of Strategic Partnerships, at booking@MindzEye.org.
In addition, the album is dedicated to the two men whose lives are forever woven into its fabric. Bowman's son, Nathan Bowman, who died by suicide at the age of 17 on January 9, 2018, produced the album's track "Split Decisions," a contribution that ensures his voice and his gift live on through this project. The album is also dedicated to Bowman's father, Alvin J. Bowman Senior, who passed away on December 2, 2023. Their memory, their love, and the weight of their absence are present in every word Testimony speaks.
"Sticky Notes is an artistic expression of my real life lessons and confessions seen through the lens of spiritual spoken word poetry," says Bowman. "This album is my testimony and gives all glory to God for transforming my life and showing me that redemption is real. My hope and prayer is that every listener is reminded that their story isn't over, their circumstances don't define them, and God's grace is greater than any mistake they've ever made. If this project inspires someone to believe again, heal again, or dream again, then I've accomplished exactly what God has called me to do."

Sticky Notes takes its name from the affirmation notes Bowman placed on his mirror during the darkest seasons of his recovery, daily reminders written to himself that there was still a reason to hold on. The project was executive produced by Grammy Award Nominee Karl "Dice Raw" Jenkins of The Legendary Roots Crew and co-produced by Seth "Digital Crates" Barmash. The project was expertly mixed and mastered by Grammy Award Winning Jason Goldstein, features string arrangements by Chelsey Green of Chelsey Green and The Green Project. Bryan "BK" Keys, Sensei Stan Crump, Jamie Knight, Ashley & Alexis Super, and The Choir Boyz (Randy "Fruity" Roberts, Martin Wilson, Derek Owens) also appear on the album, bringing an additional layer of gospel-rooted soul to Testimony's powerful spoken word delivery.
The debut album is available on all major streaming platforms beginning August 17, 2026. Follow Testimony @ab.testimony across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. For media interviews, send a request to candice@candicenicolepr.com.
