FREDERICK, Md. - Marylandian -- The DMV Jazz Series continues its celebration of world-class talent with the Dominique Bianco Quartet, performing live at New Spire Arts on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 7:30 PM. The DMV Jazz Series is dedicated to showcasing the extraordinary jazz talent of the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region, bringing both emerging and established artists to the New Spire Arts stage for unforgettable performances.
Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.
Dominique Bianco, an award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter, has been hailed as a rising star in the jazz world. A Staten Island native now based in the DC area, Bianco has been compared to legends like Ella Fitzgerald for her smooth, expressive vocals. Dominique won "Best Jazz Artist" at the 2023 Wammie Awards, was the first-place runner-up in the 2023 Billie Holiday Vocal Competition, a top 3 finalist in the 2022 International Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Competition, and was a 2023 Strathmore Artist in Residence. Captivating audiences with her fusion of timeless jazz and contemporary influences, Bianco's performances have graced renowned venues such as Blues Alley, The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Keystone Korner, Smalls NYC, AMP by Strathmore, Union Stage, Fredrick Jazz Festival, The National Cherry Blossom Festival, and Baltimore Jazz Fest to name a few. Her debut EP, I'm All Smiles, featuring jazz greats Benny Benack III and Elijah Jamal Balbed, has received critical acclaim and media attention from Downbeat Magazine, Jazz Times, WUSA9, DCNewsNow, Living Local DMV, and many more.
