The Fashion Umbrella Foundation launches a refreshed digital platform to better connect with youth, families, and the community it serves.
BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- For over a decade, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation has served youth, families, and creatives with purpose and passion. Now, the organization proudly unveils its newly redesigned website — a bold digital transformation that reflects a deeply personal and purposeful shift in its story. This evolution is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and the belief that every young person deserves opportunity, visibility, and support.
Founded by Sharan Nixon, a mother of three and longtime advocate for youth empowerment, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation was built from firsthand struggles. "There were years when I couldn't afford school supplies for my sons," Nixon shares in her newly published Founder's Note. "This organization exists because I wanted to build the kind of support system I never had."

The Foundation's rebranding centers not only on design, but on mission. With expanded programming in education, workforce readiness, performance, and creative development, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation invites the community to explore the full scope of its impact — from academic honors to artistic expression and professional growth.
Highlights of the rebrand include:
"We didn't just redesign a website. We reintroduced our 'why' — and that's the most powerful part of this journey," says Nixon.
Whether you're a parent, student, school, creative, or community partner — you're invited to be part of this movement.
