This evolution is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and the belief that every young person deserves opportunity, visibility, and support.

Founded by Sharan Nixon, a mother of three and longtime advocate for youth empowerment, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation was built from firsthand struggles. "There were years when I couldn't afford school supplies for my sons," Nixon shares in her newly published Founder's Note. "This organization exists because I wanted to build the kind of support system I never had."
