FREDERICK, Md. - Marylandian -- Carol Anderson, bestselling author and professor of African American Studies at Emory University, is set to discuss her powerful research on race, democracy, and human rights at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, MD, at 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Tickets start at $35 and may be purchased online, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 W. Patrick St. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors. Meet and Greet tickets are also available for purchase. The proceeds of all Meet and Greet events benefit children's programming at Frederick County Public Libraries.
In addition to being the recipient of numerous prestigious fellowships and awards, Carol Anderson is the bestselling author of White Rage, The Second: Race and Guns in a Fatally Unequal America, and One Person, No Vote. A major voice in reframing American history, she contributed to The 1619 Project, a New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning initiative. Her work has influenced major organizations like Amnesty International and the ACLU. Likewise, she is a frequent commentator in national media outlets including The Washington Post, CNN, and Foreign Policy.
