ANNAPOLIS, MD (February 5, 2025) ~ Annapolis, MD - The Maryland Horse Industry Board has announced the appointment of Anne Litz as their new executive director, effective February 5, 2025. This decision comes after the retirement of long-time executive director Ross Peddicord.

Maryland Agriculture Secretary Kevin Atticks expressed his excitement for Litz's selection, stating, "I am thrilled to see Anne chosen for this role. Her previous position as the Maryland Horse Industry Board Public Affairs Officer and her involvement in the Maryland horse community make her a natural fit for the position of Executive Director."

Litz has been an integral part of the Board since 2016 and has a proven track record of success. She has formed strategic partnerships, launched innovative programs, and advocated for the horse industry. Throughout her career, she has positioned Maryland as a top equestrian destination.

Under Litz's leadership, Maryland successfully managed a $250,000 grant from the Maryland Department of Commerce to promote the Maryland Horse Park System. She also facilitated the 2022 Maryland-Ireland Equine Trade Mission, strengthening international trade connections.
