BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- Career Communications Group's Women of Color Magazine has published its inaugural list of the top women in healthcare leading change across America. Women of Color is a magazine for women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Each year the magazine serves as a host of the Women of Color STEM Conference, which recognizes the outstanding achievements of women in STEM. The Women of Color Conference hosts recognition events where STEM professionals are honored for their accomplishments.
This year, the healthcare industry events will celebrate the achievements of women in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, equipment, distribution, facilities, and managed health care.
Women of Color magazine's list comprises female executives and professionals at various healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, health insurance, and healthcare-related companies.

The list represents an outstanding sample of movers and shakers recognized for their significant contributions to efforts that help provide women with knowledge to satisfy their multiple roles as decision-makers and consumers of healthcare.
They have blazed a trail in healthcare, the pharmaceutical industry, the biotechnology industry, the medical device industry, and other life sciences industries in the healthcare sector.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women have a leading role in health care in the United States.
In 2021, 16.4 million women were employed in the health care and social assistance industry, making up 77.6 percent of the total 21.2 million workers.
Looking at the sectors, women counted for 75 percent in hospitals (5.2 million), 77.4 percent in health services (8.3 million), and 84.0 percent of total employment (2.6 million) in social assistance.

Women also impact how pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, equipment, distribution, facilities, and managed health care organizations are run.
