BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- The Outer Rim: The Off-World Experience, Baltimore's home for independent science fiction, returns August 28–30, 2026 at the Baltimore Science Fiction Society with a lineup spanning genres, continents, and galaxies.

Alien Boy brings actor-filmmaker Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, How to Blow Up a Pipeline) to the festival with this tale-within-a-tale alien western, in which an aging L. Thomas Frank recounts to a modern film crew the story of a father in desolate Bummer, NM, confronted by an alien claiming to be his son's true father. Goodluck, a Sundance Full Circle Fellow and award-winning filmmaker in his own right, brings both star power and craft to this genre mashup.
