GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 4, 2024 ~ In a strategic move to expand its national footprint and processing capabilities, Mill Steel Company has announced its acquisition of Maryland Metals Processing (MMP), a leading stainless and aluminum toll processor based in Baltimore. This acquisition further solidifies Mill Steel's position as one of the nation's largest distributors of flat-rolled carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
According to Pam Heglund, CEO of Mill Steel, the company is thrilled to welcome MMP into their family. "The facility's location will greatly enhance our shipping and processing capabilities across the country and beyond," she stated. "But most importantly, we are committed to maintaining the exceptional service, relationships, and quality that Maryland Metals' customers have come to expect."
MMP is known for its expert cut-to-length, polishing, slitting, and coil enhancement services. The company has built a strong reputation for providing an exceptional toll processing experience. With this acquisition, Mill Steel plans to take a hands-off approach and allow MMP to continue operating independently under its current name, business model, and with all associates retained.
