FREDERICK, Md. - Marylandian -- Lorrie Morgan, the legendary country music star known for her string of platinum albums and powerhouse vocals, will bring her signature style to the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick Maryland on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 8:00 PM. Fans can expect an unforgettable night of heartfelt performances, including some of her most beloved hits and new material.
Tickets start at $32 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.
Lorrie Morgan, the first woman in country music to begin her career with three consecutive Platinum albums, is back in the studio with award-winning producer Richard Landis, crafting a new album filled with the emotional range that defines her music—from deep heartache to bright humor. "Where I am in my life right now, I'm not afraid to express what I feel," she says, emphasizing her commitment to creating songs that reflect her personal experiences as a woman and survivor in the industry. Known for hits like "Watch Me" and "Something in Red," Morgan's ability to connect deeply with her audience has made her a timeless artist. A Nashville native and daughter of Country Music Hall of Fame member George Morgan, Lorrie made her Grand Ole Opry debut at 13 and was inducted into the Opry by age 24. Her career took off with hits like "Til a Tear Becomes a Rose," which won her a CMA award in 1990. Over the years, she has earned multiple platinum and gold records and collaborated with legends such as Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton, and Keith Whitley. Morgan continues to perform, recently sharing the stage with Judy Collins and working on new music with Larry Gatlin, maintaining her vibrant presence in country music.
