In recognition of National Heart Awareness Month, an Elegant Two-Day Event is brought to Prince George's County, Maryland with an All Red Jazz Brunch.
MITCHELLVILLE, Md. - Marylandian -- In recognition of National Heart Awareness Month, the Open My Heart Foundation (OMHF) proudly announces its 11th Anniversary with a two-day signature event honoring heart and stroke survivors and those dedicated to advancing heart health equity.
In partnership with the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, Maryland, OMHF will host "Heart Health Symposium: Closing the Gap with New Laws", on Friday, February 27, 2026. This educational symposium will feature leaders from the medical community addressing critical issues impacting new laws, heart health access, and preventive measures.
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, OMHF will present its signature celebration, the "All Red Jazz Brunch", at the historic Newton White Mansion in Mitchellville, Maryland. The event will honor heart and stroke survivors through an elegant All Red Fashion Show and will include special appearances by members of the Silver Fox Squad. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, with African Americans disproportionately affected. The Open My Heart Foundation is a patient-centered heart health organization dedicated to eliminating heart health disparities among African American women and women of color. Event proceeds will support OMHF programs, provide financial assistance to heart patients facing medical co-pays, and expand outreach and services in underserved communities.
The Open My Heart Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible.
