FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Marylandian -- Voyager Maritime Alliance Group (VMAG), who have been a full-service Garmin Dealer for over 15 years, just completed a customized navigation and autopilot installation, using Garmin's Shadow Drive™ technology. This advanced technology gives boaters the security of knowing they can maintain control, even when relying upon the autopilot. The Shadow Drive™ automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned and allows the skipper to maneuver the boat manually.
David Leone, President of Voyager Maritime Alliance Group (VMAG), commenting on this project said, "This vessel required extensive hydraulic alterations to incorporate Garmin's latest Shadow Drive™ which dramatically improved the overall safety system on board. It's reassuring for the skipper to know that the autopilot will temporarily disengage, allow him to maneuver manually, until a steady course is held and then the autopilot automatically re-connects".

David Leone continues by saying: "Like many of our projects, my experienced technical engineers ensure the equipment installed integrates with other related electronics, to provide maximum efficiency and safety. In this case, the Garmin ChartPlotter was integrated with the Garmin AutoPilot. Also, the Autopilot was programmed to follow the Navionics chart to obtain the latest Garmin charts and inland maps".
From start to finish this project was completed in 4 days. The most complex part of this installation was to re-engineer the hydraulics to match the Garmin technical drawing, which required our most advanced engineers to follow the Gamin manual line by line.
If you are a Captain or owner and looking to upgrade or refit your vessel with Garmin or another well-known marine electronics equipment, contact VMAG. We guarantee you will receive a professional and on-time installation. Call us today at 954-463-5910 or email sales@vmag.cc.
