NEW PROJECT ALERT>> Janieliasoul speaks to the Royalty in all of us through her affirmative, uplifting, powerful lyrics. Her latest release, "I Am a Daughter of a King" drops today--and her loyal fanbase awaits in eager anticipation!
BALTIMORE - Marylandian -- Baltimore-based afrobeats artist releases a new music video "I Am a Daughter of a King" from her debut album "Self-affirmation Project". Janeliasoul developed her love of music while growing up in Nigeria. Learning traditional Yoruba folk songs led to her discovering other musical genres, such as, Soul and Jazz. Fast-forward to now and the Baltimore, Maryland resident's 7-piece band "Janeliasoul" is fusing those influences, along with pop and Afrobeat into one infectious sound.
Singing in both English and Yoruba, her new music video draws off of positive affirmations as she declares herself the daughter of a King— and by extension, reminding all women to know their worth as the daughter of a King, a Princess, a Queen in the making, no matter what hurt or pain they might have experienced. The music video was shot in Baltimore city where she resides. "Baltimore city always seems to get a lot of negative press and often taken for granted. However, I wanted to show the sultry and beautiful side of Baltimore in this video", said Janeliasoul. "Similarly, a woman could easily be taken for granted when you don't see her passionate and sultry nature; which we all possess and should never let it be taken away", she added.
